Greta is looking . . .

Update 05/01/12: It looks like Greta has found a new home.  Thank you all for your interest.

. . .  for a new home of her own.  She currently lives with co-owner/breeder Megan in Newberg, Oregon but transportation can be arranged to Southern Oregon.

From Megan:

Greta is a black and white with bridle girl who is a little over 3 years old.  She is sweet, snuggly and a wonderful house dog.  She can have a stubborn streak, like her mother Hannah, but is nearly always a good girl.  She is house broken and attended puppy obedience when she was young.  She has been to many dog shows and has been on numerous road trips, so she is well socialized.  She loves going to the beach and camping.  She is crate trained and rides quietly in the car.  She also loves sleeping with you in bed.

Greta is fantastic with kids.  She loves them in all shapes and sizes.  She is not good, however, with chickens and other small animals.  She has never lived with house cats, so she will need work on that.  She will try to herd them and gets a bit obsessed over them.  If you have a dominant cat who will put her in her place, she will back down.

She is not generally a barker but she is a typical Cardigan in that she will bark to alert you to something she thinks is strange or when she’s really, really excited.

I would not recommend her for agility or heavy herding work due to a soft tissue injury in her shoulder she sustained as a pup.  It does not affect her day to day, but she is not sound for a lot of jumping or hard cornering.

We love Greta dearly, but we feel she would be happier with a family or owner who can devote themselves to her.

Greta is from Wally/Hannah one, litter sister to Captain and Fig and older full sister to the indomitable Kady.
