I always come with the best intentions of posting detailed show reports and it just never happens. It’s always something. Three years ago it was Pilot falling off the table and breaking his elbow. This year’s donation of funds to Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital came from Molly, who decided to have a non-poopage episode. After spending the night and the day getting rehydrated and having multiple enemas, I am scheduled to retrieve her around 8 tonight.
Meanwhile, brother Pilot has taken the breed all three days. Today was a really big entry; the schedule says there were 9 specials out there in Best of Breed but there might have been a move-up for 10. The entry was 36 Cardigans; Molly’s absence took it to 35.
Pilot had many extended family members cheering him on: Paul and Richelle visited as did Ron and Kathleen all the way from Vancouver. It was a really big (and pleasant) surprise to find Ron with Dixie and Radar on our motel-parking-lot morning walk.
Yesterday was a great show day. Not only was Pilot Best of Breed but of the Winners and Reserve Winners three of four were Alice grandkids. Chase daughter Ali was Winners Bitch for 4 points, Pilot daughter Lucy was Reserve, and baby Hiro was Reserve Winners Dog. That was the second time ever in the ring for Hiro and also for his owner-handler Catherine.
Speaking of Alice grandchildren:
