Shown above in her younger, more colorful days, Julie became affectionately known as “the ancient one”.
Julie was a brindle-pointed tri bred by Glenn Schieffer of Grants Pass, Oregon. Sometimes known to her net friends as “da beyootifull Jawoowoo” or alternately “Woogers” Julie earned her first point on the day she turned six months old, and finished at 12 months with a total of 4 majors. Carolyn shared ownership of Julie with husband Tom. Julie was OFA good, eyes clear, PRA unaffected.
Julie’s sire, Ch Gorthleck Blackthorn, was an English dog imported by Stephanie Hedgepath. Her dam was a white-headed herding fool, retired from the herding arena when a horse stepped on her in a chute.
Julie was the dam of six champions, a UD, a CD and multi-agility-titled dog, plus a multi-titled Canadian performance dog. So far she is also the grandmother of 5 champions and I have currently lost track of the great-, great-great, and great-great-great titled grandchildren. She earned the silver level of the CWCCA Record of Merit (ROM). She also passed on her vocal abilities to many of her descendants. Julie’s great-great grandchildren include our own Huxley as well as his litter sister Maya.
Julie earned her NADAC Novice Agility Certificate in 1997. She was also a Canine Good Citizen.
